A Message From Principal Clarke
Dear Beech Tree Families,
Our halls are buzzing with the energy of students as they dive into SOL (Standards of Learning) testing. It is a time of both challenge and opportunity. I am continually impressed by the dedication and perseverance displayed by our students. Their commitment to academic excellence is evident as they strive to showcase their knowledge and skills during this testing season.
In addition to the academic focus, our school recently had the pleasure of hosting our annual Spring Concert. It was a beautiful celebration of talent and passion, with our students demonstrating their musical prowess and dedication to their craft. Their performances were a testament to the importance of fostering creativity and artistic expression within our school community.
I am immensely proud of our students for their achievements, both inside and outside the classroom. Their dedication to their studies and extracurricular pursuits is inspiring and speaks volumes about their character and potential.
I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our exceptional teachers and staff for their unwavering support and guidance. Their commitment to nurturing the whole student academically, artistically, and personally is commendable and makes all the difference in our students' lives.
As we continue through the busy spring season, let us cherish the moments of growth, learning, and celebration that abound within our school community. Together, we will continue to inspire and empower our students to reach new heights of achievement and excellence.
Let us also remember to end the year strong with our commitment to great attendance each day. Every day of learning counts, and our collective dedication to showing up ready to engage in the learning process ensures that each student has the opportunity to thrive.

Advanced Academic Resource Teacher School Year 2024-2025
We are thrilled to announce the promotion of Ms. AbuRish to the role of Advanced Academics Resource Teacher for the 2024 - 2025 school year! With her exceptional dedication, innovative teaching methodologies, and unwavering commitment to student success, Ms. AbuRish has consistently demonstrated her ability to inspire and cultivate a passion for learning among her students. As she transitions into this new role, we are confident that her expertise will continue to elevate our educational programs, empower fellow educators, and ultimately, enrich the academic experience for all students. Congratulations Ms. AbuRish!

Walk, Bike & Roll to School Day May 8th
May 8th is this year's official date for National Bike & Roll to School Day! Strap on that helmet and lace up your shoes, this is a day to celebrate being active and showing your school spirit.
Mrs. Clarke and Mrs. Louder will be welcoming students at Door 1!
Spring Portraits are now available to view and order online!
All orders will include free shipping for the next two weeks. After the free shipping period ends, order forms will be sent home to allow for cash or check orders. Any order placed with an order form will receive the cherry blossom background.

Class Placement Input
As the 2023-2024 school year is coming to a close, the Beech Tree staff is starting to prepare for the 2024-2025 school year. Class placement is one of the most important tasks that our staff engage in during the last weeks of school. In this process, we consider many things, such as heterogeneous groupings, balancing academic abilities, and maximizing the support our resource teachers can provide students.
If you feel that there is pertinent information to support your child’s success, please complete this optional Class Placement Input Form by Friday, May 17th. Please note that this system is not intended for families to request specific teachers. Your child’s current classroom teacher, specialists, counselors, and administrators will collaborate to make well-balanced classes. We value and consider your insight into your child’s learning needs.
☀️FCPS’ Summer Extravaganza
Don’t miss a day of family fun and learning at the FCPS Summer Extravaganza!
Stop by Woodson High School on Saturday, June 1, 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., where students will be able to take part in engaging educational activities designed to spark curiosity and inspire growth.
Representatives from local businesses, Fairfax County Public Library, and the Fairfax County Park Authority are participating in the Summer Extravaganza. Community organizations, such as Neighborhood Community Services, will be at the event as well. All will have learning activities, tips, and helpful information for families. Enjoy face painting, food, music, a moon bounce, a petting zoo, storytime, and student performances — all at no cost!

📞 FCPS Ombuds Provides Confidential Guidance
The Office of the Ombuds engages with families, students, and staff to offer resources and improve the experience of each and every member of the FCPS community. They work as an independent confidential resource to help get answers to questions, offer options to resolve concerns and hear complaints regarding FCPS matters.

Justice HS is hosting a FREE Theatre Pyramid Workshop on Saturday, May 4th from 10am-12:30pm. Students will learn about costumes, lighting & sound, improv, props and more!
