Family-Facing PreK- 8 Essential Standards - Spring 2020

Essential Standards have been identified in PreK-8 across the four core content areas to provide guidance for teacher planning and teaching for the remainder of the 2019-20 SY.  The Essential Standards are the most critical content to be taught during distance learning/before the end of the school year.  PreK-8 Essential Standards are accessible in eCART search (select grade level and use keywords Essential Standards).  Due to the number of courses with pacing that is developed at the teacher/team level, there is not a plan to create these documents for high school courses at this time.

For teachers, Essential Standards are posted:

• Elementary resources can be found within Elementary Specific Resources on the Distance Learning Blackboard site and on the Elementary Curriculum Framework Google Site.
• Middle School resources can be found within the MS/HS Specific Resources on the Distance Learning Support Blackboard Site and the FCPSOn Google Site.   

The family-facing PDF versions of Essential Standards have been created for schools to share with their communities.  Schools can access these versions of Essential Standards documents in the linked pathways above. These PDF versions are not currently posted on the public internet or on the family-facing Blackboard Site.  Please note the family-facing PDF documents are different in that they are not linked to additional internal FCPS documents.
