Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) Lab

Beech Tree takes pride in its dynamic Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) Lab, providing students with an enriching space where they can seamlessly integrate various disciplines to foster creativity and innovation. In our STEAM education approach, students combine Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics to learn, explore, and tackle challenges in innovative ways. Through inquiry-based learning and the engineering process, students actively participate in creating, building, and discovering. Foreign Language in the Elementary School (FLES)

At Beech Tree Elementary, we enrich our students' educational journey by incorporating Arabic into our specials curriculum. FCPSOn: 1 to 1 Technology for All Grades

Beech Tree Elementary proudly embraces the FCPSOn initiative, positioning itself as a technologically advanced learning institution. As an FCPSOn school, we ensure that every student is equipped with an FCPS-issued laptop or iPad, providing them with seamless access to dynamic educational resources. The devices are not only accessible during school hours but, in certain schools and grade levels, can also be taken home, promoting continuous learning beyond the classroom. Active and Committed PTA

  Our PTA at Beech Tree Elementary is a dynamic and dedicated collective of parents, teachers, and students working collaboratively to enrich the educational experience for all. Comprising a robust core of volunteers, our PTA plays a pivotal role in enhancing the educational opportunities that pave the way for each student's success, both in the present and the future. Through a variety of programs, the PTA contributes to the support of students, programs, activities, and staff, making a significant impact on the overall school environment. Thanks to the tireless efforts of our volunteers and the generosity of donors, the PTA can sponsor a range of engaging events, including picnics, Fun Fairs, Book Fairs, and Family Night Out. English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)

The Elementary ESOL Services at Beech Tree are designed to provide individualized support, catering to the specific English language development needs of our students. Our ESOL teachers work directly with English Learners (ELs), focusing on advancing their English language proficiency while concurrently building academic language and content understanding. The approach is holistic, with a particular emphasis on engaging ELs in reading and writing tasks, as well as fostering academic conversations. Special Education Services

Beech Tree Elementary takes great pride in offering a myriad of programs geared towards implementing evidence-based practices, aiming to enhance both academic achievement and the social-emotional competence of our students as individuals.  Our Special Education Department Chair and team work along side teachers to support our students.

We are fortunate to house two specialized Autism classes, catering specifically to students in K-2nd and 3rd-5th grades. These classes serve as a testament to our commitment to inclusivity and personalized support, ensuring that each student receives the attention and resources necessary to thrive academically and develop essential social and emotional skills. Through these targeted programs, Beech Tree strives to create a learning environment that recognizes and celebrates the unique strengths and needs of every student, fostering a culture of diversity, understanding, and success.

School-Age Child Care (SACC)

School Age Child Care (SACC) is a valuable program available at Beech Tree Elementary, specifically designed for children in kindergarten through Fifth grade. Operated by the Fairfax County Government's Office for Children, SACC offers a safe and enriching environment for students during non-school hours. This program provides a variety of engaging activities, ensuring that children have a constructive and enjoyable experience while in their care. SACC serves as a convenient option for families, offering quality childcare services that align with the needs of working parents and guardians. At Beech Tree Elementary, we recognize the importance of supporting families by providing a reliable and nurturing environment for their children through the SACC program.
